After a busy summer of travelling, teaching, making and demonstrating around Europe we are back in southern Catalonia this week continuing our residency exploring the plant materials of
Els Ports National Park and the environs of Mas de Barberans through the seasons. An early look out the window this morning revealed low cloud drifting through the locally named 'Sea of Olives' on the plain below Mas de Barberans. While I tried my best to get down in amongst the cloud to photograph the veiled silhouettes of the trees the sun came out and scorched it all away before I was able to capture what I imagined, however walking on it was great to see a new array of flowers and autumn colours on the rocky dry terraces between the olive groves.
Després d'un estiu viatjant, donant cursos, fent cistells i demostracions per Europa, estem de tornada al sur de Catalunya aquesta setmana per continuar la nostra residència explorant les fibres vegetals del
Parc Natural dels Ports i els voltants de Mas de Barberans. Un cop d'ull per la finestra a primera hora revela un núvol baix tocant el que localment és anomenat "El Mar d'Oliveres" a la plana sota Mas de Barberans. Tot i que m'he afanyat per baixar i entrar al núvol per fotografiar les siluetes vetllades dels arbres, el sol ha sortit abans que pogués capturar el que m'havia imaginat, però el passeig ha estat fantàstic per veure una nova col-lecció de flors i els colors de la tardor a les terrasses seques i rocoses entre els camps d'oliveres.
